iOS Version of Google Maps Receives First Update

According to latest information, iOS version of Google Maps App gets its first update that includes contacts incorporation along with more local search option. The hottest update for the standalone maps app of iOS rolled out today only adding bundle of new features and functions to the already existed version.

Furthermore, the latest update to Google maps app also consist of a new option in the search menu that will immediately search for nearby points of interest that includes movie theaters, gas stations, restaurants and coffee shop. You can search for your favorite places and you do not have to type the places to look for.

The iOS version of Google Maps apps was released in December 2012 following the release of the Apple’s own maps app that received worldwide criticism related to the glitches found in it.

The popularity of Google Maps app is its own set of mapping data including turn-by-turn directions that is something users of Android are enjoying from past few years but it was made available for the iOS users only when iOS6 update was launched.

At present, the iOS version of this famous app still lacks some important features found on Android version that consists of mapping layers, biking directions, offline mode, indoor maps etc.
